Dr. John Hoskins discusses on Educational TV Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and what Southeastern Retina Associates is doing to treat this number 1 reason for blindness for those over 50.
AMD is a type of macular degeneration that happens as the result of aging. It causes damage to the macula, a small spot near the center of the retina and the part of the eye needed for sharp, central vision, which lets us see objects that are straight ahead.
